Internet Award for Fluoride Website
The National Fluoride Information Centre (NFIC), England's only independent information centre for fluorides and fluoridation, has been awarded the Plain English Internet Crystal Mark for its public access website.
www.fluorideinformation.com provides the general public and health professionals with objective information on all types of fluoride use to help them access better dental health.
Professor Robin Davies, NFIC Director said, 'As an information provider it is vital that our messages can be read, understood and acted upon by any of our many users.
'The award is an important independent check on the ease of accessing our information and in understanding how fluorides can be most effectively used to help fight tooth decay in different populations.
'With the debates surrounding fluorides looking set to continue, it is vital that people have access to independent information and the crystal mark is a guarantee that we are communicating in plain English and shows our commitment to making information accessible to all'.
