The National Fluoride Information Centre (NFIC) is England's only independent information centre for advice and resources on fluorides and fluoridation. NFIC was established in 2004 at the University of Manchester to produce and disseminate accurate and objective information to the public and health professionals on the risks and benefits of different types of fluoride delivery. NFIC is overseen by Director Professor Robin Davies.
NFIC is based at the University of Manchester. This is to ensure that all information produced is academically independent and scientifically correct. By working within the University, NFIC has access to a number of independent scientific experts who are specialists in a number of fields, including dentistry, toxicology and medicine.
